We need to labor diligently in our work for the kingdom as well as improving the way we are living. As we do this we will notice things that we can improve on to become more like our Savior Jesus Christ.

It is important to be "nourished by the good word of God all the day long." (Jacob 6:7) We need to be reading, pondering, learning and changing ourselves every single day so that we are improving who we are and by doing this we will be able to see ourselves as God sees us.

Jacob 6:12-13 "Oh be wise; what can I say more? Finally, I bid you farewell, until I shall meet you before the pleasing bar of God, which bar striketh the wicked with awful dread and fear."

There are a lot of interesting word choices in these verses;
First "Oh be wise" to me it is kind of like saying use the common sense that our Father in Heaven has given each of us. In the dictionary, it defined wise as using "good judgment". I really like that because that is something we can all improve on and do better at through our lives when making decisions every day.
Then it says, "what can I say more?" He doesn't know what other advice would be more important than this. It's interesting that he reminds us and asks us to use the common sense that we have been blessed with, but I think not only that but also the spirit that we have been blessed with in our lives to guide us. When we live worthy of the Holy Ghost in our lives then we will be happier and live a more fulfilling and Christlike life.
"I bid you farewell, until I shall meet you before the pleasing bar of God." I have never thought of the judgment bar in this way, as pleasing? But pleasing means- satisfying, or appearing. So as we live our lives the way we need to go beyond just satisfying Heavenly Father then the Judgment bar will be pleasing and we will be excited to stand before God and have Him judge us for the way we have lived our lives.

If we are living our lives the best we can and always trying to improve then t think this will make the judgment bar more pleasing to us. We need to always be willing to improve our lives and ask for ways that we can improve. Be humble.

Blessing: I was able to text a really good friend last night and it made me feel better about who I am and realize something I need to improve on. :)
