I was reading in Mosiah 14:3-5 and tried to find a picture of this amazing scripture about Christ and His Atonement. In the meantime, I found an amazing cross reference.
Mosiah 14:3-5 says,
3. "He is despised and rejected of men; a man sorrows, and acquainted with grief; and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4. Surely he has borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows; yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted."
5. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."

despised- Contemned; disdained; abhorred.
rejected- Thrown away; cast off; refused; slighted.
sorrow- The uneasiness or pain of mind which is produced by the loss of any good. or of frustrated hopes of good, or expected loss of happiness; to grieve; to be sad. I rejoice not that ye were made sorry, but the ye sorrowed to repentance. I Cor. 7. Sorrowing most of all for the words which be spoke, that they should see his face no more.Acts 20:1.
*acquainted-Known; familiarly known; informed; having personal knowledge.
grief-The pain of mind occasioned by our own misconduct; sorrow or regret that we have done wrong; pain accompanying repentance. We feel grief when we have offended or injured a friend, and the consciousness of having offended the Supreme Being, fills the penitent heart with the most poignant grief
*esteemed- Valued; estimated; highly valued or prized on account of worth; thought; held in opinion.
*borne- of bear. Carried; conveyed; supported; defrayed
transgression- The act of passing over or beyond any law or rule of moral duty; the violation of a law or known principle of rectitude; breach of command.
chastisement- Correction; punishment; pain inflicted for punishment and correction, either by stripes or otherwise.
healed- Restored to a sound state.
Knowing the definitions to these words gives this scripture a whole new meaning to me.
Then a cross reference to this is Isaiah 53:6 which says, "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all." vs 6 in Mosiah is exactly the same as Isaiah 53:6.
These are powerful scriptures. I've been thinking about the Atonement a lot lately and that I need to be more thankful for it and use it more in my life. I take it for granted a lot.
The end of Mosiah 15: 7 says, "the will of the Son being swallowed up in the will of the Father."
I need to follow my Savior's example better and allow God's will to take over my own and learn how to obey with exactness and seek for guidance and counsel from God.
"harkened unto their words, and believed that the Lord would redeem his people,"
These people will enter into the Kingdom of God. This isn't a one-time deal, a check-list of things to do to get there it's a continuous process.
Blessing- I was able to meet some new people today and gave some fun regardless of if I will ever see them again.
