Chapter 3 starts with a prophecy of Christ coming to earth and testifies of His mission to do many mighty miracles among the children of men.
It makes me wonder how many other miracles were done by Christ that weren't recorded in our scriptures?
Christ Atones for our sins and weaknesses. This alone makes me want to be a better person so that He doesn't have to suffer more for me than is absolutely necessary. Without the Atonement there would be no way to return to live with our Father in Heaven because of the Fall of Adam and Eve. The fall made it possible for us to have agency and have the choice to return to live with our Father in Heaven again.
How can I live in order to show Christ that I am thankful for the way He lived, His example and for the atonement He performed for Me? What can I improve on?
Mosiah 3:18 Christ has given each of us a ticket back to Heaven if we will but live the best we can he asks us to "humble and become as little children, and believe that salvation was, and is, and is to come, in and through the atoning blood of Christ, the Lord Omnipotent."
It is asking us to become 1. humble, 2. become like little children, and 3. Believe in Salvation and that it is to come through Christ.
Then is warns us in the next scripture 3:19, "For the natrual man is an enemy to God, and has been from the fall of Adam, and will be, forever and ever, unless he yields to the enticings of the Holy Spriit, and putteth of the natural man and becometh a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord, and becometh as a child, submissive meek, humble, patient, full of love, willing to submit to all things which the Lord seeth fit to inflict upone him, even as a child doth submit to his father."
This scriture has a lot too it;
- First off it tells us that the natural man is an enemy to God. We need to not allow the natrual man over take who we are and our potential that God has for each of us.
- Then it invites us to put off the natural man and become a saint through Christ's Atonement.
- it reminds us to become as a child:
- meek
- humble
- patient
- full of love,
- willing to subit to all things
- We need to submit our will to the Lords. Realize that what He has for us is far better then anything I have in mind for myself.
Then the next scripture invites us to share this knowledge with others by saying, "the time shall come when the knowledge of the Savior shall spread throughout every nation, kindred, tougue, and people"
We need to be a part of this not just as fulltime missionaries but as members of the church.
Blessing:I'm thankful for the example Christ set for me and for His willingness to perform the Atonement for me to have an opporutnity to return to live with my Father in Heaven again someday.
