It's interesting that people have been putting others on a pedestal for years. Making other people below or allowing other people to be above them in religious practices without true revelation from God.
In the scriptures, it says that "by their fruit ye shall know them." (Matthew 7:16-20)
Why are people so quick and willing to listen to anyone who sounds like they might have authority or they say they have it? I think so many especially today .

D&C 123:12, "For there are many yet on the earth among all sects, parties, and denominations, who are blinded by the subtle craftiness of men, whereby they lie in wait to deceived, and who are only kept from the truth because they know not where to find it."

 I believe this happens more and more today as people try to go out and do their own thing and not listen to the words of the Lords servents.
