- In Institute yesterday we were talking about the importance of the sacrament and that there are so many people in the church who don't understand the purpose or the importance of coming to the sacrament and partaking of it. We renew our covenants with God, not just our baptismal covenants but also the covenants we made in the temple with Him. We need to remember them and to remember what we are responsible for and most important reflection on what we need to improve on or do better at.
- When we partake of the sacrament WORTHILY we are allowing Christ into us, both in a spiritual and a physical sense. We are asking Him to heal us and to make us more like He is. Are we allowing that to happen or do we just partake of the sacrament because that's what we do each week?
"took upon themselves the name of Christ, having a determination to serve him to the end." (Ether 6:3)
- Taking upon ourselves the name of Christ is a big deal. It makes me think of our last names that connect us with our parents and ancestors. If we are to take upon someone else's name we must respect it and give it a good name or in other words live a life proud of who you are and who you represent. Do we live differently or strive to?
After baptism, we are "wrought upon and cleansed by the power of the Holy Ghost, they were numbered among the people of the church of Christ..." (Moroni 6:4)
- Everyone wants to feel a part of something and like they belong in some group. By being numbered among the people in Christ's church we all work together to be edified and lift up one another.
President Hinckley said, "With the ever-increasing number of converts, we must make an increasingly substantial effort to assist them as they find their way. Every one of them needs three things: a friend, a responsibility, and nurturing with 'the good word of God'(Moro. 6:4).
Blessing- I get to go to institute each day and learn more about the gospel and bring greater understanding into my life.
