Doctrine and Covenants
"the fullness of my gospel might be proclaimed by the weak and the simple unto the ends of the world." 1:23
Missionaries are younger now than they ever have been, back in the days of Joseph Smith they were men who had families that would leave them to go out and teach the gospel or 3+ years. Now we have young men 18 years old who go out and teach the gospel, who are weak and simple because of their limited education and learning. This to me allows them (missionaries) to be more humble and submissive to God, in order to call upon Him for guidance.
"these commandments are of me, and were given unto my servants in their weakness, after the manner of their language, that they might come to understand." 1:24
"What I the Lord have spoken, I have spoken, and I excuse not myself; and though the heavens and the earth pass away, my word shall not pass away, but shall be fulfilled, whether by mine own voice or by the voice of my servants, it is the same." 1:38
I love this scripture and the promise it leaves that not only with our Father in Heaven continue to communicate to us but that He still, as always, will use his servants or a Prophet to fulfill His work.
Blessing: I'm able to read and learn things in order to not only be more knowledgeable but to strengthen myself and my testimony.
