The people were troubled and went to Alma,  "their afflictions had truly humbled them, and that they were in preperation to hear the word." (Alma 32:6)
Why do we wait until we have trials and afflictions to come unto God?

(Alma 32:21) And now as I said concerning faith- faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things; therefore if ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen which are true."

I love this scripture but there are times I struggle with faith because I loose hope in things in my life that I don't see. But with scripture study, prayer, modern day revelation, and family and friends it's easier to have hope because they remind me that there is something worth living for.
