The Lord asked Ammon to go back to the Laminites and "bear with patience thine afflictions, and I will give unto you success." (Alma 26:27)
That is a hard thing he is asked to do. Learning before going into  situation that you will have afflictions would make me not want to go, but I would go knowing that it was a commandment of the Lord just like my mission. I went on a mission knowing it was going to be hard and that I would have afflictions and have to be patient.
I love this line in Alma 26:37, ""we see that God is mindful of every people, whatsoever land they may be in;"
It's hard to remember all the time, especially when going through trials, that God is always there for us and He is mindful of what I'm going through and that He cares what I'm doing.
