Alma 29:2-3, Alma says, "Yea, I would declare unto every soul, as with the voice of thunder, repentance and the plan of redemption that they should repent and come unto our God, that there might not be more sorrow upon all the face of the land.
But behold, I am a man, and do sin in my wish; for I ought to be content with the things which the Lord hath allotted unto me."
I love these verses there is a lot of application in them.
1. First we need to listen which isn't stated but it's implied.
2. Repent, become humble and realize that we all sin in the eyes of God.
3. Come unto our God, After being forgiven for our sins coming unto God can make the repentance process easier and it can make continuously becoming better easier.
My favorite part:
4. be content with the things the Lord allots us. (I think this is so important because it can help us with the rest of these, help us to be humble and submissive to God.)
Alma 29:9, "this is my glory, that perhaps I may be an instrument in the hands of God to bring some soul to repentance; and this is my joy."
Christ says to the Pharisees and scribes in Luke 15:7, "I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.
I love these verses because it just shows that our efforts aren't lost and God recognizes them even if we only make a difference in one person's life, as long as we are trying that's really what matters.
Alma 29:13, "called...to preach the word unto this people, and hath given me much success, in the which my joy is full."
I like this verse because it's reminding us that we need to recognize Gods had in all things, and recognize that ultimately we did nothing for the success and happiness we are able to enjoy in our lives.
Blessing: God has given me all I have and enjoy in my life, even if I don't recognize it.
