Christ atoned for our sins and allowed us to be saved "it be through the merits, and mercy and grace of the Holy Messiah," (2 Nephi 2:10)
INTERCES'SION, noun [Latin intercessio, from intercedo.]
The act of interceding; mediation; interposition between parties at variance, with a view to reconciliation; prayer or solicitation to one party in favor of another, sometimes against another.
"there is an opposition in all things."  Becuase of the opposition in all things we must have a conscience in order to truly understand what the right choices are.

I really like this quote about making sure we take challenges and difficulty in the best possible way in order to keep our heads above water.
