"...Behold there are save two churches only; the one is the church of the Lamb of God, and the other is the church of the devil; wherefore, whoso belongeth not to the church of the Lamb of God belongeth to that great church, which is the mother of abominations; and she is the whore of all the earth."
This is the end of the fence sitters, everyone will have to make a choice to join the church or to follow Satan.

"Hence we find our Lord saying, 'He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.' (Matt. 12:30.)" (Mormon Doctrine, p.138)
(1 Nephi 14:14) "they were armed with righteousness and with the power of God in great glory." 
It is important to be "armed with righteousness" and to have that desire in order to have power from God to overcome Satan.
