The scriptures are amazing in how they are able to teach you the things you need to know and hear. in chapters 28 and part of 29 it was talking about the teaching the gospel and translating the scriptures. Being able to keep and preserve these holy words is so important and then not only that but truly studying them and learning them to apply to our lives. The people want a king but their is a worry that he won't be a righteous king. Why do we have such a desire as humans to have a leader? I think it is because we truly like it when we are told what is right and wrong but we don't like to be punished for our wrong doings. They desired a king but also were warned that they needed to have a righteous one.
It talked about putting their trust in God and that is something I need to work on an do more of. I feel sometimes like I try to do everything by myself and when it does 't work I get frustrated and then realize I didn't include God.
Blessing: President Thomas S. Monson a righteous leader and Prophet of God today.

In reading the end of Mosiah chapter 29 It talks about Alma "walking in the ways of the Lord," and also says that "he did keep his commandments, and did judge righteous judgments." That is amazing. That is so Christlike. I wish I could do that better. Especially the righteous judgement part. Sometimes I fee like I'm not a very nice person.
In Alma it starts out talking about the church and the people in it and the people not involved int the church. It's interesting because it made me think of the book by Dr. Seuss and his book with the Star Bellied Sneetches and how some had starts and they were "better" then those who didn't then they were better then those who did but once they were all mixed up it didn't matter who had starts and who didn't. I think of this because the people of the church and the people of the world were against each other in what they were doing. I don't understand sometimes why it is so hard to work together as children of God.
But one of my favorite parts in the chapters I read was in vs 30 of ch 1 when it says "having no respect to persons as to those who stood in need." Respect- a feeling of deep admiration for someone, and something elicited by their ability, qualities, or achievements.
Blessing: That I was able to go to Kayls district basketball game.
