The church really starts picking up in these chapters with 3500 people baptized and untied in the church. Sometimes when I think of people getting baptized it worries be because of all of the inactive members that I worked with on my mission. What can we do to get people to see and recognize the importance of the gospel in their lives? There are a lot of different ways that we can be a "humble follower of God" like is says in Alma 4:15 and I think it all begins with realizing that I am nothing without God in my life. Being able to preach the word and bear a pure testimony is a powerful tool that I miss from my mission and one that I need to use more. Also making sure that we allow our heart to change. and are continuously working on changing ourselves and who we are.
February 27, 2015 Well I am getting into the war chapters now and is so full of things we need to avoid and things we need to work on. In Chapter 2 of Alma the Amalicites and the Nephites are going two war. It talks about their preparations in thinking about them and all the things that each of them did differently I couldn't help but ask myself what I would do to be prepared?  What do I do today to be prepared for the wars of 2015 in my life?  Am I doing enough?  Then it talks about the Nephites being strengthened by the Lord in battle and I wonder what it takes to have get that kind of strength and support in our lives? Exercising faith in the Lord is a lot harder then they make is sound in the scriptures. Putting all of my life in His hands knowing in the back of my mind only that everything will turn out if I do my part. Sometimes it's hard to believe when I try so hard and I don't get the results that I want and ...
February 25, 2015 The scriptures are amazing in how they are able to teach you the things you need to know and hear. in chapters 28 and part of 29 it was talking about the teaching the gospel and translating the scriptures. Being able to keep and preserve these holy words is so important and then not only that but truly studying them and learning them to apply to our lives. The people want a king but their is a worry that he won't be a righteous king. Why do we have such a desire as humans to have a leader?  I think it is because we truly like it when we are told what is right and wrong but we don't like to be punished for our wrong doings. They desired a king but also were warned that they needed to have a righteous one. It talked about putting their trust in God and that is something I need to work on an do more of. I feel sometimes like I try to do everything by myself and when it does 't work I get frustrated and then realize I didn't include God. Blessing: Pre...

February 21, 2015 Today I was reading in Mosiah about Abinadi chapters 16-18 and I couldn't help but think about the difference he made in his life and he didn't even know about it. He worked so hard as a missionary and got one convert out of the hold thing. But with this one convert it truly made a big difference. Some of the questions I was thinking about or that came to my head when I was reading were: What are ways today that we can stand as a witness? What does your heart desire? What must we do to gain eternal life? What are the most important things? Then I was thinking about authority and how important it is to have it in order to perform the ordinances we need to return to life back with our Father in Heaven like baptism, receiving the Holy Ghost and then later to go through the temple and gain greater knowledge. In these chapters it also mentioned a lot about power and authority. Whenever I think of these I always think of my mission and how many people in the wo...
