The story of the Jaredites is amazing. First, they build these bardges that I wonder how they were built, and what they looked like. I found this online. It's someone's idea of what they might have looked like. https://www.google.com/search?q=jaredite+barges+found&espv=2&biw=1366&bih=643&site=webhp&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwibgdWihdDNAhUEHGMKHXJJBCgQ_AUIBigB#imgrc=HzUN42w41dmqNM%3A They were in the water traveling for 344 days, that's almost a year. The people wanted a king so Orihah was appointed, " Orihah did walk humbly before the Lord, and did remember how great thing the Lord had done for his father, and also taught his people how great things the Lord had done for their fathers." How can we better "walk humbly before the Lord," "remember how great things the Lord had done" and teach others of the things the Lord does? It is important as well to pray about our leaders and not just accept...
The brother of Jared was " redeemed from the fall " (Ether 3:13) because of his faith in the Lord. Redeem-  To purchase back; to ransom; to liberate or rescue from captivity or bondage, or from any obligation or liability to suffer or to be forfeited, by paying an equivalent; as, to  redeem  prisoners or captured goods; to  redeem  a pledge. The brother of Jared, in Ether 3:19 it says, "he had faith no longer, for he knew, nothing doubting."  That is an amazing scripture. I have the desire to be like that and not doubt anything and know. We must start with faith though and continuously try to strengthen our faith especially in the hard times.  Ether 4: 12   And whatsoever thing persuadeth men to do good is of me; for  good  cometh of none save it be of me. I am the same that leadeth men to all good; he that will not believe my  words will not believe me—that I am; and he that will not  believe me will not believe the Fat...

The brother of Jared told the people to "cry unto the Lord" (Ether 1:37).  Crying is more than just saying your prayers because it's a habit and it's what we do every day. Crying is truly opening up our mind and soul to our Father in Heaven in a way that we don't do with anyone else. In order to gain or strengthen our relationship with Him we need to truly cry and open our hearts and minds to Him. Then later in vs 38 he says to the people, "let us be faithful".  So we need to pray unto the Lord and then be faithful in all He asks us to do and I think especially in our relationship with Him. Faithful -  Firm in adherence to the truth and to the duties of religion,  True; exact; in conformity to the letter and spirit; as a  faithful  execution of a will. Father in Heaven preserved America for the coming forth of the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He couldn't have brought forth the gospel in any other way. I love that the Brother...
The Lord has given us this special gift and blessing of having the scriptures to read and study out of in order to do as he has planned and commanded for us to return to Him. If we don't take the time to do so then we are showing God we don't cherish His gifts and blessings. -How often do we seek for answers online instead of through the scriptures and prayer? Where do all true answers really come from? Mormon 8:28:32, these verses are interesting to me because they talk about other churches led by Satan. It makes me wonder if Satan organized these other churches in order to confuse more of God's churches and like he always does present truths and lies in order to lead God's people astray. Mormon 9:7-8, "And again I speak unto you who deny the revelations ofGod, and say that they are done away, that there are no revelations, nor prophecies, nor gifts, nor healing, nor speaking with tongues, and the interpretations of tongues;  Behold I say unto you, he that de...

"that the seed of this people may more fully believe his gospel" Mormon 5:15 What would it take and what can I do to help people " more fully believe his gospel" ? " they had Christ for their shepherd;" (Mormon 5:17) You couldn't ask for a better shepherd, leader or protector than Christ himself. "... how could ye have rejected that Jesus, who stood with open arms to receive you !" (Mormon 6:17) Christ is willing and ready to help us and to lead and guide us to our Father in Heaven. But the part that isn't fun or easy is that we have to submit our will to Him. Christ knows all, he's been through it all and if we are willing to allow Him to take a bigger part in our lives then it will make our lives easier and will allow our relationship with Him to grow. As we allow Him to lead us and to be that shepherd that He has promised He would be to lead us to righteousness and back to our Father in Heaven. Blessing: I have amazing ...
Mormon 3:2-3, " And it came to pass that the Lord did say unto me: Cry unto the people-- Repent ye, and come unto me, and be ye baptized, and build up again my church, and ye shall be spared.  And I did cry unto this people, but it was in vain; and they did not realize that it was the Lord that had spared them, and granted unto them a chance for repentance . And behold they did harden their hearts against the Lord their God." - Who did they think gave them repentance if it wasn't the Lord? How did they know or feel they were forgiven of the their sins? Blessing- God put Vivian in my life when I needed a friend.
The people started to be wicked because things weren't going the way they wanted them to. It's interesting that most people pull away from God and turn to Satan who gives the people nothing in return for following or worshiping them. Why would that make it easier to sin? People won't do anything for nothing today either so why follow Satan and get temporary satisfaction? I like this story because it is a good lesson on recognizing sin and not even messing with it. Boy and the RattleSnake Story   A little boy was walking down a path and he came across a rattlesnake. The rattlesnake was getting old. He asked, "Please little boy, can you take me to the top of the mountain? I hope to see the sunset one last time before I die." The little boy answered "No Mr. Rattlesnake. If I pick you up, you'll bite me and I'll die." The rattlesnake said, "No, I promise. I won't bite you. Just please take me up to the mountain." The little bo...
